If a Project Manager or Contractor is unable to meet a response deadline within a contract, a request for an extension to the due date is issued to the other party, via an Extension of Period for Response (EXT) notification.

An EXT can be initiated by a Project Manger in response to a Contractor's Compensation Event Notification (CNCE), a Contractor's Quotation submission (CQT), a Contractor's General Communication Requiring Response (CCM), or initiated by a Contractor in response to a Project Manager's General Communications Requiring Response (PMC).
